Position Description
Responsible for supporting our faculty during continuing education training programs and participating as an instructional assistant in Clinical and Professional Skills classroom and laboratories to help educate veterinary students.

Major/Essential Functions

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Computer savvy and enthusiasm to learn and teach.
Knowledge and proficiency with veterinary technical skills.
Proficient in the placement of IV catheters, venipuncture, fluid/medication administration.
Comfortable with anesthesia protocols and monitoring of patients.
Efficiency and self-motivation.

Required Qualifications
Graduate of AVMA-licensed veterinary technician program with three years of experience, or bachelor's degree and training as a veterinary technician/assistant, or ten years of veterinary clinical experience in a high quality/volume practice. Experience with care and maintenance of surgical/anesthesia equipment. Experience entering data into electronic medical record systems. Current driver's license. Promote and foster the Core Values of the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

Texas State licensure as a veterinary technician.
Experience with advanced anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Office management or experience as a supervisor.
Ability to speak another language.
Experience with Excel or other electronic data systems.
