Job Description:


Accepting Applications for Academic Year 2022-2023

The Veterinary Technology Program at Massasoit Community College is now accepting applications for a program Clinical Veterinarian.

Massasoit Community College is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join the Veterinary Technology program team. The Clinical Veterinarian is responsible for providing highest quality veterinary care to program animals located on the Canton campus. Throughout the academic year, this position provides routine wellness and general medical care to program animals, weekly in-person health checks, consult by phone and email, and thorough medical record documentation. The Clinical Veterinarian is also responsible for providing spay/neuter surgical services, post-operative care, dental services, and supervision during sedated/anesthetic procedures. On-call veterinary care is performed as needed. Precise understanding of program protocols, policies, and procedures is required. This position works cohesively with program veterinarians, credentialed veterinary technicians, and support staff. Clear and effective communication with program faculty, staff and students is essential, as well as contribution to a positive and supportive team culture. This is a part-time, hourly position with a 1 year appointment for the 2022-2023 academic year, with the possibility of renewal.

Requirements:


  1. Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  2. Veterinary license in good standing with the MVMA state veterinary board.
  3. A minimum of 3 years post graduate and recent work experience, related to position needs.

COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: Candidates for employment should be aware that all Community College students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated by January 2022. Accordingly, initial employment is dependent upon receipt and verification of full vaccination status records; details of how to fulfill vaccine record verification requirements will be provided during the hire and onboarding process.

Dates: Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters, August - May

Hourly rate: $65.00/hour, (approximately 1 - 15 hours/week)
